Ahl al-Bayt
Literally "The People of the House" — a Qur'anic designation (33:33) for the purified family of the Prophet ﷺ.
The Ahl al-Bayt are the purified members of the Prophet Muḥammad's ﷺ household — identified by Shia tradition and the Hadith of the Cloak (Kisāʾ) as Fāṭima al-Zahrāʾ (as), Imam ʿAlī (as), Imam Ḥasan (as), Imam Ḥusayn (as), and the nine Imams from Ḥusayn's line. They are inseparable companions of the Qur'an by the Hadith al-Thaqalayn ("Two Weighty Things") and the guarantee of continued guidance after the Prophet.
