بِعَلِيٍّ ع يَقُودُونَهُ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ص مَا تَشْتَكِي يَا عَلِيُّ قَالَ رَمَدٌ مَا أُبْصِرُ مَعَهُ وَ صُدَاعٌ بِرَأْسِي فَقَالَ لَهُ اجْلِسْ وَ ضَعْ رَأْسَكَ عَلَى فَخِذِي فَفَعَلَ عَلِيٌّ ع ذَلِكَ فَدَعَا لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ص فَتَفَلَ فِي يَدِهِ فَمَسَحَ بِهَا عَلَى عَيْنَيْهِ وَ رَأْسِهِ فَانْفَتَحَتْ عَيْنَاهُ وَ سَكَنَ مَا كَانَ يَجِدُهُ مِنَ الصُّدَاعِ
وَ قَالَ فِي دُعَائِهِ اللَّهُمَّ قِهِ الْحَرَّ وَ الْبَرْدَ وَ أَعْطَاهُ الرَّايَةَ وَ كَانَتْ رَايَةً بَيْضَاءَ وَ قَالَ لَهُ خُذِ الرَّايَةَ وَ امْضِ بِهَا فَجَبْرَئِيلُ مَعَكَ وَ النَّصْرُ أَمَامَكَ وَ الرُّعْبُ مَبْثُوثٌ فِي صُدُورِ الْقَوْمِ وَ اعْلَمْ يَا عَلِيُّ أَنَّهُمْ يَجِدُونَ فِي كِتَابِهِمْ أَنَّ الَّذِي يُدَمِّرُ عَلَيْهِمْ اسْمُهُ إِيلِيَا فَإِذَا لَقِيتَهُمْ فَقُلْ أَنَا عَلِيٌّ فَإِنَّهُمْ يُخْذَلُونَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى
قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع فَمَضَيْتُ بِهَا حَتَّى أَتَيْتُ الْحُصُونَ فَخَرَجَ مَرْحَبٌ وَ عَلَيْهِ مِغْفَرٌ وَ حَجَرٌ قَدْ ثَقَبَهُ مِثْلَ الْبَيْضَةِ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ وَ هُوَ يَرْتَجِزُ وَ يَقُولُ
قَدْ عَلِمَتْ خَيْبَرُ أَنِّي مَرْحَبٌشَاكِ السِّلَاحِ بَطَلٌ مُجَرَّبٌ. فَقُلْتُ
أَنَا الَّذِي سَمَّتْنِي أُمِّي حَيْدَرَةَكَلَيْثِ غَابَاتٍ شَدِيدٍ قَسْوَرَةٍأَكِيلُكُمْ بِالسَّيْفِ كَيْلَ السَّنْدَرَةِ. وَ اخْتَلَفْنَا ضَرْبَتَيْنِ فَبَدَرْتُهُ وَ ضَرَبْتُهُ فَقَدَدْتُ الْحَجَرَ وَ الْمِغْفَرَ وَ رَأْسَهُ حَتَّى وَقَعَ السَّيْفُ فِي أَضْرَاسِهِ فَخَرَّ صَرِيعاً. وَ جَاءَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ أَنَّ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع لَمَّا قَالَ أَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ قَالَ حِبْرٌ مِنْ أَحْبَارِ الْقَوْمِ غُلِبْتُمْ وَ مَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَى مُوسَى فَدَخَلَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مِنَ الرُّعْبِ مَا لَمْ يُمْكِنْهُمْ مَعَهُ الِاسْتِيطَانُ بِهِ وَ لَمَّا قَتَلَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع مَرْحَباً رَجَعَ مَنْ كَانَ مَعَهُ وَ أَغْلَقُوا بَابَ الْحِصْنِ عَلَيْهِمْ دُونَهُ
فَصَارَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع إِلَيْهِ فَعَالَجَهُ حَتَّى فَتَحَهُ وَ أَكْثَرُ النَّاسِ مِنْ جَانِبِ الْخَنْدَقِ لَمْ يَعْبُرُوا مَعَهُ فَأَخَذَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع بَابَ الْحِصْنِ فَجَعَلَهُ عَلَى الْخَنْدَقِ جِسْراً لَهُمْ حَتَّى عَبَرُوا فَظَفِرُوا بِالْحِصْنِ وَ نَالُوا الْغَنَائِمَ
فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفُوا مِنَ الْحِصْنِ أَخَذَهُ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع بِيُمْنَاهُ فَدَحَا بِهِ أَذْرُعاً مِنَ الْأَرْضِ وَ كَانَ الْبَابُ يُغْلِقُهُ عِشْرُونَ رَجُلًا وَ لَمَّا فَتَحَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع الْحِصْنَ وَ قَتَلَ مَرْحَباً وَ أَغْنَمَ اللَّهُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ أَمْوَالَهُمُ اسْتَأْذَنَ حَسَّانُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ الْأَنْصَا
-azwj Rasool-saww, and Allah-azwj Loves him-asws and His-azwj Rasool-saww. He-asws will take it with its right. He-asws isn’t a fleer’. They came with Ali-asws guiding him-asws to him-saww. The Prophet-saww said to him-asws: ‘What is your-asws complaint, O Ali-asws! ’ He-asws said: ‘Sore eyes, I-asws cannot see with it, and headache in my-asws head’. He-saww said to him-asws: ‘Be seated and place your-asws head in my-saww thigh’. Ali-asws did that. The Prophet-saww supplicated for him-asws and spat in his-saww hand and wiped with it upon his-asws eyes and his-asws head, and his-asws eyes opened up and it calmed what he-asws was finding from the headache. And he-saww said in his-saww supplication: ‘O Allah-azwj! Save him-asws from the heat and the cold’, and gave him-asws the flag, and the flag was white, and said to him-asws: ‘Take the flag and go with it, for Jibraeel-as is with you-as and the Help is in front of you-asws and the awe is affirmed in the chests of the people. And know, O Ali-asws, they are finding in their Book that the one who will pulverise upon them, his name would be Elia, so when you-asws meet them then say: ‘I-asws am Ali-asws’, and they will be forsaking if Allah-azwj the Exalted so Desires’. Amir Al-Momineen-asws said: ‘I-asws went with it until I-asws came to the fortress, and Marhab came out and upon him was a metal piece and an armour which he had been perforated like the helmet upon his head, and he was saying war rhetoric, ‘Khyber has known I am Marhab, the weapons complain of the experienced hero’. So I-asws said (war rhetoric): ‘I-asws am the one my-asws mother named me-asws as Haider, like a forest lion of severe ferocity, dealing out to you with my-asws sword the full measure of attrition’. We exchanged strikes and struck him and cut the metal and the helmet and his head until the sword fell into his teeth, and he fell quickly’. And it has come in the Hadeeth that Amir Al-Momineen-asws, when he-asws said: ‘I-asws am Ali-asws Bin Abu Talib-asws, a Rabbi from the Rabbis of the people said, ‘You (Jews) will be overcome and what has been Revealed unto Musa-as’. So there entered into their hearts from the awe what they had no capacity to bear with it, and when Amir Al-Momineen-asws killed Marhab, the ones who were with him returned and they locked the door of the fortress upon them besides him-asws. Amir Al-Momineen-asws came to it and handled it until he-asws opened it, and most of the people were from a side of the trench, not being able to cross over with him-asws, so Amir Al-Momineen-asws grabbed the door of the fortress and made it to be upon the trench as a bridge for them until they crossed over and they won the fortress, and they attained the booty. When they left from the fortress, Amir Al-Momineen-asws took in with his-asws right hand and overturned it a few cubits from the ground; and the door was such, twenty men
